No matter how much I reduce an image, it always turns out larger than I expected. >_>
Anyway, I've been meaning to do this for awhile but I'm quite the lazyass. But yeah. Many of you helped me out in my search for a wig for Lucy of Elfen Lied. I am eternally in your gratitude. I love this thing. Sometimes my parents or brother freak out when they walk in my room because a telekinetic mutant with multiple personality disorder is sitting on my bed. But I digress.
I started this thread, first of all, to do a review of the EBay seller Professional Only. Their username is professionalonly, I'm sure if you look it up in the stores section you'll find it.
+The wig looks EXACTLY like it does in the picture.
+Very high quality fibers. It's very shiny and soft.
+Super cheap! This wig was... I think about $26, and had free shipping.
+The shipping thing said it would come within 7 to 14 business days. It reached me in a week. From Hong Kong. Yeah.
-VERY thin. This wig has tons of short, razored layers, though. a longer wig with fewer layers would probably be thicker.
-Kinda poofy and difficult to style. In the picture, I'm holding the side of the wig that's off-camera because it sticks out slightly. This will (hopefully) be corrected.
All in all, I would definitely buy from them again and I recommend them to anyone who wears wigs for cosplays or for fun.
Okay. Second of all, I'm going to talk about hiding long hair under a wig. When I first got my wig, I flipped, ran upstairs, and tried to put it on.
Miserable failure.
I was baffled for quite some time. Eventually, though, I figured it out.
I put my bangs and layers into a half-ponytail, then put the rest of my hair in a low ponytail at the nape of my neck. If your layers and bangs aren't as short as mine, or if you don't even have layers, you just need one low ponytail.
I bobby-pinned my half-pony to the back of my head since it was very thin, pulled my low pony up, and secured it on top of my head with two bobby pins.
I have no wig cap, so I took an old pair of pantyhose and clipped off one foot. I took the makeshift wig cap and pulled it over my crazy hair. Make sure it covers all of your hair!
Then, I put the wig on. Tah dah!
Maybe, when I don't have makeup smeared under my eyes, I'll add pictures to make it a full-blown tutorial.
